If you’ve been keeping up with the Muskeses (lol bad pun), you’ve definitely heard of r/WallStreetBets.

I’ve been on WSB since Dec 2020 and every scroll on Reddit is nothing short of fun, wacky yet highly informative. I’d must say that apart from seemingly unrealistic price targets and playful slang like #stonks and #diamondhands, notable figures like DFV have produced EXCELLENT DD.

And the recent battle with #hedgies that plastered WSB’s name in headlines ALL OVER THE WORLD? That’s what I call a successful movement.

So, here’s a list of slang words I’ve come to learn and understand from my fellow WSBers over days of scrolling through reddit. Have fun!

To the Moon 🚀 – Stock price increasing phenomenally (And #Doge is literally 🚀🌕)

Diamond Hands 💎🤲🏻 – Refusing to sell despite the dip and holding onto the stock foreverrrrr

DD – Due Dilligence – Ideally complete with Technical Analyses, linking current affairs to company news etc, but realistically for most part, ‘Let’s get this stonk to $1000!!’ 😏

Hedgies – Hedge Funds

Papa Musk – An affectionate term for Elon Musk (Especially for Tesla fans)

HODL – Hold onto Dear Life – used typically to denote holding on to cryptocurrency

Stonks – Stocks

Tendies – realised or unrealised profit (actually short for chicken tenders. Who’s feeling hungry?)

And, of course, this serious investor sets aside a sizeable portion of my portfolio for #tothemoon #stonks! #diamondhands 🤪
